My name is Dennis Knaust. Having always been inspired by grappling I decided to try it at the age of 38. I was instantly hooked! I had no idea at the time that it would change my life completely in every facet. Jiu-Jitsu brought to me more than I ever dreamed of. Having also been a coach for a number of years now I have also witnessed how it changes others as well. Fitness, health, problem solving and confidence are just a few of the many benefits I have seen first hand and/or been a part of with others on their journey. I started in August of 2012 and had no idea that 6 years later I would be just as immersed in Jiu-Jitsu now as when I started. As a coach I love watching the growth and confidence of students young and old.

I have been training at Gracie Barra O,Fallon for the last 5 years. I am the Women’s Self Defense Coach and an Assistant Coach for kids.In my spare time I enjoy reading, lifting weights and staying fit. I look forward to attending college to study nutrition and athletic performance.
I started training at Gracie Barra when I was 11 years old and it quickly developed into passion of mine. I have made several close friendships at GB O’ Fallon and enjoy training with them every week and getting ready for competitions together. I am now an assistant coach for the kids classes. Off the mats, I often find myself reading, drawing, taking photos, and working out.
“Not only have I learned jiu jitsu, but I’ve learned discipline, patience, and how to live a healthier lifestyle along with it. If I had never done jiu jitsu, I would be a completely different person by now. For anyone starting jiu jitsu, it will change you for the better.” -Alyssa Luecke
